Born into a family with Air Force ties, Max Hill was given the opportunity to
experience life in different countries and cultures at a young age. After living in
the Philippines, Germany, and Florida, Max's family settled in Colorado Springs.
Here, Max established his roots.
On Watercolor....
I enjoy the spontaneity of working with watermedia. Watercolor requires careful
planning and yet insists that you be ready to go along with what happens as the
painting develops. You are really in partnership with this medium, serving both as
creator and faithful servant, ready to control backruns or sit a watch as happy
accidents happen. Watercolor is not a medium for the faint of heart and if pushed
around too much loses it's vibrancy.

Biography
Throughout the years, Max developed his diverse interests and talents with a southwestern flair. Through
his father, Max learned the intricate skills of wood inlay art. Max further enhanced his eye for design and art
by studying architectural design and drafting, along with commercial arts at Pikes Peak Community College.
His diverse background also includes work experience as chief draftsman at an engineering firm, a
freelance artist, songwriter, country western musician, owner of a screen printing business, and real estate
professional. After these many years, Max has returned to his first love of fine art.
